The Caribbean Electric Utility Services Corporation (CARILEC) will share some of the challenges and successes of managing a Caribbean Utility while striving to build Energy Sustainability and Resilience in the Caribbean States. The Caribbean Energy Sector is continuously developing strategies aimed at increased energy reliability, affordability, and sustainability; in accordance with the United Nations’ (UN) 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Small island utilities are faced with tremendous hurdles such as sourcing finance, the multi-sectoral impacts of COVID-19, natural disasters, and the onset of a global recession, which continue to stagnate our progress.
