Hon. Cozier Frederick among first set of speakers announced for Global Sustainable Islands Summit

The 2025 Global Sustainable Islands Summit (GSIS) is poised to demonstrate the commitment of the St. Kitts and Nevis government in co-hosting the conference with Island Innovation.
This follows an invitation by St. Kitts & Nevis Prime Minister the Honorable Dr. Terrance Drew, to global leaders to attend the conference during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2024.
A press release from co-organizers, Island Innovations indicates that the event is slated for March 25-30. The event typically takes place at different regional island locations.
The first announcement of speakers for this annual summit has been confirmed.
Hon. Cozier Frederick, Minister for Environment, Rural Modernisation, Kalinago Upliftment and Constituency Empowerment is scheduled as one of the presenters at what Island Innovations describes as “one of the only island-related sustainability conferences which showcases the innovative solutions island communities and stakeholders are developing.”
Several other prominent figures are slated to participate, including:
– Hon. Reuben Meade, Prime Minister of Montserrat
– H.E. Lady Alida Francis, Governor of Sint Eustatius
– Hon. Edward David Burt, Premier of Bermuda
– Hon. Rebecca Fabrizi, UK Envoy for Small Island Developing States (SIDS)
– Dr. James Fletcher, CARICOM Climate Envoy
– Edison Rijna, Special Envoy for the BES islands to the EU and UN, focusing on Economic Development with Latin America and the Caribbean
– Hon. Chris Lee, State Senator from Hawaii
– Isaac Solomon, Vice President of Operations at the Caribbean Development Bank
– Dr. Pepukaye Bardouille, Director of the Bridgetown Initiative and Special Advisor on Climate Resilience for the Prime Minister’s Office in Barbados
