Rapid Assessment on the Situation of Children Working and Living on the Streets in Solomon Islands

This rapid assessment was conducted in preparation for the 2023 South Pacific Games, primarily to assess the challenges faced by children working and living on the streets in Honiara, the capital city of the Solomon Islands.
It focuses on assessing the prevalence of children on the streets, examining their demographics, and the risks faced by different age groups. It also aims to understand their background, family linkages, and awareness of available support services. The findings underscore the urgent need to enhance awareness and accessibility to support services to effectively address the challenges faced by children on the streets, including the risks of human trafficking, sexual exploitation and abuse, and child labor.
